  3. <Section 5.1:  Load Chart>
  4.      If you want to load an org chart file from your disk into your
  5. computer's memory for the purpose of viewing the chart, changing it,
  6. printing it, or exporting it in a graphic format, then you will want to
  7. use the LOAD-CHART command in the top menu.

  9.      When you invoke this command, you are presented with a menu of all
  10. files in the current directory with the extension "ORG". The current
  11. directory is the directory that was active in DOS when ORCHIS was loaded.
  12. The following method is used when choosing an item from this menu. The
  13. items listed are displayed alphabetically. The menu appears with an
  14. initial item highlighted. As you begin to type a name, at each keystroke
  15. the highlight moves to the first entry compatible with the keys typed so
  16. far. At any point, you can select the highlighted entry by pressing ENTER.
  17. The highlight can also be moved with the Up-Arrow, Down-Arrow, Home, and
  18. End keys. If the list of names is too large to fit in the menu window at
  19. one time, you can use Left-Arrow and Right-Arrow to move the highlight
  20. into successive menu pages. Also, you can highlight an item by simply
  21. pointing to it with the cursor.

  23.      The LOAD-CHART command also displays a file name input form in the
  24. chart window. This is an entry form with a single field used for entering
  25. a file specification. If you want to load an org chart file from a device
  26. or directory other than the current directory, activate the entry field in
  27. the file name form by pressing the TAB key or clicking on the field with
  28. the cursor. Then identify the file you want to load by entering the target
  29. file name, optionally adding device, path, and file extension information
  30. as required.

  32.      Note that the current org chart is not automatically saved to disk
  33. when another is loaded. If unsaved work would be lost by a LOAD-CHART
  34. operation, you will be prompted for verification first.

  36. <Section 5.2:  Save Chart>
  37.      After creating or modifying a chart, if you want to save the results
  38. from your computer's memory to a file on disk, you will need to use the
  39. SAVE-CHART command in the top menu. When you invoke this command, a file
  40. name input form is displayed in the chart window and its entry field is
  41. activated for text input. Initially, this field contains the file
  42. specification of the last performed LOAD-CHART or SAVE-CHART operation. To
  43. save to this file, simply press the ENTER key. To save to another file,
  44. enter the file name only (if your are saving to the current directory) or
  45. optionally add device, path, and file extension information as required.

  47. <Section 5.3:  New Chart>
  48.      The NEW-CHART command erases all chart data in your computer's
  49. memory, and constructs a default chart as though ORCHIS had just been
  50. loaded. If unsaved work would be lost, you are asked to verify before the
  51. deletion takes place. Only the chart data loaded into ORCHIS are erased;
  52. chart files on disk are not affected by this command.
